projector

It’s time folks!! We all have a TV in our Man Cave but how many of us have a nice wall projector for that great Cave Theater experience? Well it’s time to review a few of the beasts and see what all the outside world has to offer. I like to call it our own little slice of Man Cave Heaven.

A common misconception when it comes to projectors is they cannot get the resolution that a normal TV can get. This is not true at all. You can easily find quite a few projectors that get just as high of resolution as your favorite Big Screen TV (Full 1080p) at half the cost. Plus with the right environment you can get a picture that is twice the size of the biggest TV’s! One thing you do have to keep in mind when buying a projector is what kind of lighting do I have in my Man Cave? The reason you need to ask yourself this question, is how much light you have in the room WILL reflect on a projectors picture quality! Luckily most of us like our Man Caves nice and dark so it shouldn’t be to big of a problem. Next up are our reviews of some of the best projectors out there for your buck!  HTMarket

Amazon is my favorite place to buy electronics and other random things. Usually when I am shopping for, well, almost anything, I start out by going to Best Buy, HH Gregg or even Wal-Mart, and  then I come home and buy that item from Amazon at a much lower price most of the time. One of my other favorite web sites is htmarket.com. This website has given me some great ideas. They can be a bit pricey but often have great deals and great coupons sent to your email.

These two companies have everything that you can think of when making a Man Cave. HTmarket has great bundle deals that meet any budget.  An item to check out is the Buttkicker. It mounts inside your sofa or chair and gives you a different movie or gaming experience every time it hits. The Buttkicker starts out at about $430.  Still, I recommend searching for anything you consider buying on Amazon’s site first to find the best deal, but between these two web sites you can get plenty of ideas and in most cases save some money.

 E1000

Gaming chairs have come a long way since the wedge shaped chair that was used in the days of Nintendo. The E1000 Gaming Chair by Repose is, in my opinion, the best gaming chair out there. This thing has built in 2.1 sound system jacks to plug in an mp3 player, a jack for headphones, and even a swing out cup holder. You can even hook another chair up to yours so you can share in the sound. Now, I love my simple 5.1 surround system but the sound that comes from this chair is so crisp and clear that you swear it’s not just a 2.1 system.

The comfort of this chair is top notch. The manufacturer of this chair also makes top of the line massage chairs, and believe me, when the sub starts going this becomes a massage chair.  It gives you the ability to fold it up for storage, but why do that? You can get it in a few different colors and it looks good in any man cave. With a $450 dollar price tag it is a bit steep but there are no regrets or buyer’s remorse with this chair.

slingbox

The SlingBox is another one of those items that has been around for a while. I bought mine about 18 months ago and I don’t know what I would do without it. The SlingBox Solo is what I have.

Basically it’s pretty simple. You hook it up to your cable box then to your Internet. It turns any computer into your TV. If  I’m working out in the garage or sitting on the deck and I want to watch ESPN, I pull up my slingbox on my laptop and take it with me. Anywhere you can go and have access to a computer you can watch TV. They even offer a mobile version for blackberry and iPhone with an additional cost  $30.00. It’s a great gadget with a starting price of $150.00 for the Solo. It’s a must have.  (Picture above is the Slingbox PRO)

halo-3-odst

Before the release of this game many said it was just a $60 downloadable content add-on to Halo 3. I have been to both midnight releases of Halo 2and Halo 3. I guess I bought into what I was hearing about game before it release and i did not attend any functions for Halo 3: ODST’s release. I stopped by Wal-Mart the day of release to see if they had any copies. I was fortunate that they did have three copies left but I still had a hard time deciding to buy one. Against my wife’s voice in the back of my head telling me we don’t have any money I went ahead and bought a copy. I got home that night, still not excited to play it I messed around for about an hour and then retired to my HD Plasma screen in man cave to check it out. Click the read link for the whole story

Why Madden Why?

I’m going to try not to make a habit of writing PSPgame reviews. But I ’m going to write one for the steaming pile of Wooly Mammoth Dook!  Having played the Madden franchise since the Sega Genisis days I am used to some changes big and small, and I do believe the franchise has done a pretty good job of staying fresh and innovative. The Xbox 360 version takes a little getting used to but I’m starting to enjoy it. With all that said how could I go wrong by picking up a copy for my PSP
.

I’m really not even sure where to start on how bad this game is.  First off, the load times are just dreadful.  After each play the game freezes to load. The graphics are Piss Poor. I still can’t find the right camera angle to view all my wide receivers when the quarterback goes back for a pass. Controlling running backs is a nightmare. The new  Superstar Challenge is worthless to me. This game just sucks; I don’t know what else to say. I gave it a couple of weeks and my mind didn’t change. This game blows!
