projector

It’s time folks!! We all have a TV in our Man Cave but how many of us have a nice wall projector for that great Cave Theater experience? Well it’s time to review a few of the beasts and see what all the outside world has to offer. I like to call it our own little slice of Man Cave Heaven.

A common misconception when it comes to projectors is they cannot get the resolution that a normal TV can get. This is not true at all. You can easily find quite a few projectors that get just as high of resolution as your favorite Big Screen TV (Full 1080p) at half the cost. Plus with the right environment you can get a picture that is twice the size of the biggest TV’s! One thing you do have to keep in mind when buying a projector is what kind of lighting do I have in my Man Cave? The reason you need to ask yourself this question, is how much light you have in the room WILL reflect on a projectors picture quality! Luckily most of us like our Man Caves nice and dark so it shouldn’t be to big of a problem. Next up are our reviews of some of the best projectors out there for your buck! Wii

The Wii takes a lot of flack for not being a hard core gaming machine. People should realize that the Wii isn’t trying to compete with the PS3 or Xbox…it’s a whole different gaming experience. The Wii is great when groups of people, guys and girls, need some entertainment. It’s easy to make drinking games out of the bowling, or relive your childhood days on the playground at school. The group of accessories are not comparable to any other system. How can you not love a system that allows you to fight with real light sabors, steer a wheel of a racecar, or swing a racquet? This is a must have system for those of you who have a man cave that also doubles as a family room–anyone of any age can find a game they like for the Wii.

ps3-slim

Believe it or not I am still asked this question. Since its release my answer has always been “yes”. With the new price drop , new restyling and some great games as of late there is no reason not to have one.  For any guy or gal that’s into sports games, this is without a doubt the right system for you. MLB The Show is the best baseball game I have played in the past few years. The PS3 also offers other awesome exclusive titles along with a vast selection of movies to rent or buy.

The Blu-Ray player is outstanding; the PlayStation store has really come on as of late and with constant updates it keeps the system fresh and enjoyable.  The system has come along way since it was released and it keeps getting better. Who cares if you have a xbox…you can enjoy both. For a quick comparison of the new PS3 slim AKA “PS3 120 GB” hit the read link…

 HTMarket

Amazon is my favorite place to buy electronics and other random things. Usually when I am shopping for, well, almost anything, I start out by going to Best Buy, HH Gregg or even Wal-Mart, and  then I come home and buy that item from Amazon at a much lower price most of the time. One of my other favorite web sites is htmarket.com. This website has given me some great ideas. They can be a bit pricey but often have great deals and great coupons sent to your email.

These two companies have everything that you can think of when making a Man Cave. HTmarket has great bundle deals that meet any budget.  An item to check out is the Buttkicker. It mounts inside your sofa or chair and gives you a different movie or gaming experience every time it hits. The Buttkicker starts out at about $430.  Still, I recommend searching for anything you consider buying on Amazon’s site first to find the best deal, but between these two web sites you can get plenty of ideas and in most cases save some money.

slingbox

The SlingBox is another one of those items that has been around for a while. I bought mine about 18 months ago and I don’t know what I would do without it. The SlingBox Solo is what I have.

Basically it’s pretty simple. You hook it up to your cable box then to your Internet. It turns any computer into your TV. If  I’m working out in the garage or sitting on the deck and I want to watch ESPN, I pull up my slingbox on my laptop and take it with me. Anywhere you can go and have access to a computer you can watch TV. They even offer a mobile version for blackberry and iPhone with an additional cost  $30.00. It’s a great gadget with a starting price of $150.00 for the Solo. It’s a must have.  (Picture above is the Slingbox PRO)

Why Madden Why?

I’m going to try not to make a habit of writing PSPgame reviews. But I ’m going to write one for the steaming pile of Wooly Mammoth Dook!  Having played the Madden franchise since the Sega Genisis days I am used to some changes big and small, and I do believe the franchise has done a pretty good job of staying fresh and innovative. The Xbox 360 version takes a little getting used to but I’m starting to enjoy it. With all that said how could I go wrong by picking up a copy for my PSP
.

I’m really not even sure where to start on how bad this game is.  First off, the load times are just dreadful.  After each play the game freezes to load. The graphics are Piss Poor. I still can’t find the right camera angle to view all my wide receivers when the quarterback goes back for a pass. Controlling running backs is a nightmare. The new  Superstar Challenge is worthless to me. This game just sucks; I don’t know what else to say. I gave it a couple of weeks and my mind didn’t change. This game blows! You can get a better Madden 2010 experience eating a Turducken

This is for all of you Cavemen out there who weren’t lucky enough to see this jewel when it was on SNL. This is a MCMH since you’ll need to be prepared when asked if you have seen this!! now the answer is yes.
